Mara Flynn is an artist living in Arlington, VA. Formerly a legal writer in Washington, DC, she began painting to infuse creativity and tranquility into her otherwise busy life. Though largely self-taught, she studies locally with well-known artists and online with artists around the world.
Mara primarily paints landscapes and seascapes using colors that reflect the natural world. She also enjoys creating abstract compositions using bold colors to create intriguing pieces that evoke feelings and memories and explore new experiences. In addition to nature, she draws inspiration from her life experiences, emotions, travel, and imagination.
She is a member of Falls Church Arts in Falls Church, VA, and regularly exhibits at its gallery. She also exhibits at Del Ray Artisans in Alexandria, VA, Artists in Middleburg in Middleburg, VA, Arlington Visual Arts Studio (AVAST) in Arlington, VA, and Guild Hall Cultural Institute in East Hampton, NY.
