Prospectus: “Between You and Me”

AVAST Artists Exhibit at MoCA Arlington

Purpose

The Arlington Visual Art Studio Tour (AVAST) represents an open community of artists throughout Arlington who share their work with the public through the annual September AVAST Tour. This exhibit, in the Jenkins Community Gallery at the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington (MoCA), provides another opportunity to connect. Consider submitting work that reflects the theme, “Between You and Me.”

Eligibility and Specifications

Every artist participating in the 2025 AVAST Tour is eligible to exhibit one work. There is no entry fee for this exhibit. Registration for the tour, and therefore the exhibit, is capped at 60 artists, on a first come first served basis.

  • Size: To accommodate pieces from all artists in the space available, we request that 2D work be not more than 24” wide, framed, and that 3D work be no wider or deeper than 12”.

  • Submitted artwork for the exhibit does not need to match sample art for the tour directory.

  • 2D works must be prepared for hanging. Photographs and works on paper must be framed. Frames, work on canvas, and work on panel should have d-rings or wire attached.

  • For 3D work, a limited number of vitrines are available. These will be allocated on a first come basis. Artists submitting three-dimensional work are encouraged to submit smaller scale artworks, especially if they prefer that it be presented in a vitrine. Pedestals are also available.

MoCA will provide insurance for all artwork while it is in their care. Please be aware, however, that summer camps will be in session during the exhibit. Avoid submitting particularly delicate work, especially our 3D artists.

It is up to the artist to state whether their work is for sale and if so, to set the price. If not for sale, please state a value for insurance purposes. No commission will be charged for sales by MoCA or AVAST. Sales will be handled by artists. AVAST will put interested buyers in contact with the relevant artists.

Submission Process

The link to the submission form is located in your confirmation email for the 2025 tour registration. If you do not see the confirmation email or the link, please email us at arlstudiotour@gmail.com

Uploaded artwork images should be in jpg or png format, limited to 5 Mb. Please include your name and the title of the artwork in the file name (e.g. LastnameFirstname-Title.jpg).
