Emily Shepardson is an artist working in printmaking and sculpture. The imagery Shepardson uses has a domestic feminine bent. She uses layering and juxtaposition to comment on our messy contemporary world. She loves the process of printmaking as a tool for creating an abundant quantity of images. Each print becomes the foundation of a multitude of works. She considers them mixed media prints, since most don't adhere to one process. Each print goes through many iterations before it is “done”. She is a risk taker willing to experiment. Sometimes the experimentation goes too far and a piece is ruined, but that is the cost of doing business. Every print is unique; there are no editions.
