Renee Newell is a landscape painter inspired by places she loves from her native New England to her home in Arlington. She uses unexpected color, distinct color pallets, and expressive mark making to capture the unique personalities and rhythms of trees, rocks, water, and other natural elements. She is fascinated by how organic shapes can become abstracted into something that stays true to a landscape yet intrigues the viewer.
