Inspired by nature, the urban environment, current events, and travel experiences, Joanne works in acrylic, mixed media and collage with bold loose marks, textures, and color to harness physical energy to find mental clarity and achieve exhilaration in the process. The work isn't tidy and freely incorporates accidents, smudges, drips, and gestural marks along with more physical alterations of sanding, scraping, rubbing, and gouging.
